The women’s 2012 lacrosse season is here! Expect to see some great new uniforms on the field. Longstreth’s experience in uniform building gives us an inside track on uniform trends.
While sublimated uniforms have been trending in the men’s game for the past two years, it seems to finally be making its way into the women’s game. Teams at all levels are recognizing the benefits and advantages of purchasing sublimated uniforms and apparel.
In most cases, uniforms need to last 3-4 years, so the ability to fill in and keep color consistency is important.. Sublimated uniforms provide sharp color consistency. They never fade, crack or peel over time; therefore re-orders for fill ins match perfectly. Sublimated material is lightweight, moisture wicking and adds to the on-field performance of the player.
Not only are sublimated uniforms durable, but the customization options are endless and in most cases sublimated uniforms are more economical than traditional custom uniforms. Some of our customer favorites this year are the new Under Armour, Amour Fuse® uniforms made from HeatGear material, Nike sublimated Elite uniform, Dynamic reversibles in the new Aerofiber® pin dot mesh fabric and Brine uniforms with custom side panel inserts.
The sublimated reversible has been increasingly the jersey of choice for many teams. The reversible acts as the home and away jersey, making it an economical purchase. Most pair the jersey with a basic kilt or short.
For those teams that chose the traditional route this year, there were many high quality options to fit any budget. Poly/spandex fabrics and pin dot mesh are trending for comfort and performance.
For traditional uniforms, customers chose the Debeer Home & Away programs this year, not only because they are great looking uniforms and customizable, the program pricing was a plus. We also saw strong stock uniform sales in Nike, the Brine Essence and Under Armour Quick Stick uniforms.
Making a uniform decision is important when it comes to team apparel, with so many choices, sometimes it can be overwhelming. Longstreth team reps help make the decision process easier, by understanding our customers needs and presenting them with the best options.
