Allentown Central Catholic junior midfielder Paul Houck has made a commitment to play Division I lacrosse at the United States Military Academy and begin the admission process.

Paul Houck log:

Paul Houck

High School: Allentown Central Catholic

Graduation Year: 2014

Position: Midfield

College Choice: Army

Club Affiliation: Twist Lacrosse

Major lacrosse honors: Varsity Team Captain, Varsity Points Leader, Lehigh Showcase All-Star, Jake Reed’s Nike Blue Chip

What will you major in/study? Chemistry and Life Science

Why did you choose Army? “I chose Army for three main reasons. First, it’s a great opportunity and honor to attend the USMA and serve in the Army after. Second, I loved the coaching staff and the close bond the team has. I think in seasons to come Army will be in the running to win a National Championship. Third, when I visited the campus I instantly knew it was something I wanted to be a part of. The campus is beautiful and the academics are top notch.”

Outlook for your high school team? “I just transferred to Allentown Central Catholic this year (from Saucon Valley), but I’m hoping to contribute to the team’s third consecutive District Championship. I plan to put in a full effort to help my new coaches and teammates win a lot of games.”

Additional Comments: “First, I would like to thank my family for supporting me throughout the years, taking me to countless events and helping me with whatever I do. I couldn’t have done it without them.

“I would like to thank my club Coaches Jack Devlin, Joe Serio, and Greg Flego for guiding me through the recruiting process. I also want to thank my friend and coach Lou Gonzalez. He has played a key role in my development as a player and has inspired me over the years.

“Lastly, I would like to thank the Army coaching staff for their support and graciousness throughout the recruiting process.”
