Allentown Central Catholic junior midfielder Ryan Beville has made a commitment to play Division I lacrosse at Jacksonville University.

Ryan Beville log:

Ryan Beville

High School: Allentown Central Catholic

Graduation Year: 2014

Position: Midfield

College Choice: Jacksonville University

Club Affiliation: Headstrong

Major lacrosse honors: Headstrong Cottle Elite, Ohio state top 100, Two year varsity starter, Freshmen bison brawl

What will you major in/study? Aviation

Why did you choose Jacksonville? “Jacksonville had everything I wanted in one place. It’s close to the beach and the weather can’t be beat. The major I want to do is known there, which is very important. The best part about it is the coaching staff and how they run their program. They made me feel very welcomed and didn’t force me to make any decisions. I love the confidence they have in the program and where they see it in the future. They also made me feel like I was at home the minute I stepped on campus. The players are cool kids who all share interests of mine, and also made me feel extremely welcomed. JU has everything I want in a university and town, while still having a division 1 lacrosse team. It couldn’t be more perfect.”

Outlook for your high school team: “We have a lot of young players who are really stepping up. Our team has grown a lot and the coaches really know what we can do to be the best that we can. We think this could be the year that ACC really makes a name for itself in lacrosse.”

Other comments: “I would like to thank my parents, who have been helping me through the whole recruiting process and taking me all over for tournaments, visits, etc.; and my coach Dan Dolphin for being there for me and really helping me make the best decision and improve as a player.

“I’d like to thank the HEADstrong L.C. They helped me tremendously to get where I am at, and they also support the foundation at the same time. A thanks to my coach freshmen year, Geoff Chenworth, who taught me everything I needed to know to grow as a player and person; Lou Gonzo for helping get ready for high school lacrosse. And lastly a huge thanks to the JU staff for giving me this opportunity.”

Other schools considered: Rutgers, Bucknell, High Point, Salisbury
