Philly club teams LB3 and HEADstrong will join the other 14 members of the The National Scholastic Club Lacrosse Association (NSCLA) to compete Saturday and Sunday in the NSCLA Championships at the University of Delaware.

The 2-day championships tourney will feature teams in the Rising Senior, Rising Junior and Rising Sophomore divisions. Champions will be crowned Sunday afternoon in each division.

Previously held in late July (7/30-31/2011), the NSCLA Championships, formerly called the Champions Cup, has drawn an impressive list of the top collegiate coaches, with over 90 coaches attending the 2011 event. Moving the event to the traditional “opening day” of the summer recruiting season is a key improvement in the development of the showcase.

The NSCLA is a 501-C3 organization, which was formed in 2010 as an alliance of the top teaching/recruiting focused lacrosse clubs in North America. Currently the membership also includes: Long Island Express, Edge Elite (Canada), CNY Roadhawks, New Hampshire Tomahawks, Progression Lacrosse (Ct. Hurricanes), Patriot Lacrosse, Leading Edge, Madlax, Baltimore Lacrosse Club (Crabs), Roughriders, Carolina Select, True Lacrosse, West Coast Starz and Denver Elite.

The event this weekend was preceded by today’s Adrenaline Black Card Showcase at Eastern University when 114 players – mostly handpicked from the 16 NSCLA members – competed before over 50 coaches in a recruiting tournament.

HEADstrong will compete in a division with the Crabs, MadLax and Denver Elite. LB3 is in a division with Laxachusetts, West Coast Starz and Canadian Edge.
