Lacrosse Magazine has listed four Philly players among the 12 divisions of college lacrosse for its Preseason Players of the Year.
The Philly players include Syracuse senior attack Michelle Tumolo (Clearview Regional) for Division I, and West Chester senior attack Tori Dugan (Bayard Rustin) for Division II on the women’s side. For the men, players are Lynchburg senior defenseman Joe Lisicky (Unionville) in Division III and Pitt senior attackman Tyler Novotny (Spring-Ford) in MCLA Division I.
Tumolo helped the Orange to the NCAA finals last year and was the 2012 IWLCA Attacker of the Year. She is only the second player in Orange history to record 200 career goals and 100 career assists.
Dugan helped lead the Golden Rams to the NCAA title game and was named PSAC Attacker of the Year while scoring 81 points and setting a school record with 118 draw controls.
Lisicky was the USILA’s Defensemen of the Year and led Lynchburg with 89 ground balls and 41 caused turnovers. He has been an offensive threat since high school and added five goals.
Novotny had 67 goals last year and earned All-American honors while helping the Panthers to their first trip to the national tourney.
