Club lacrosse: Duke’s L.C. aims to retain Champ Camp crown

The Duke’s Lacrosse Club aims to regain the crown at Champ Camp when the major boys’ club tourney opens today in Baltimore.

The four-day tournament, featuring many of the top club teams in the nation, concludes Saturday at Johns Hopkins’ Homewood Field.

The Duke’s L.C. won the crown from 2007-11. Last year Tri-State knocked off the Dukes in the title game.

This year the Dukes are the top seed in Group A and Tri-State is the top seed in Group B. Dukes 2 is the top seed in Group C and twist Black is the top seed in Group O. Overall, there are 66 teams in the tourney,

Some other top seeds include Ridgewod, Long Island I, Got Skillz, Team America and Leading Edge.

All teams will play a total of eight games: one on Wednesday, three on Thursday, three on Friday, and one on Saturday. The ‘Championship Game’ will follow the Saturday morning’s games schedule, to start at noon.
