The Haverford based Philly Fever 2017 Orange took top honors at the All Met Classic in Bethesda Maryland July 7 & 8.
Playing under very difficult conditions from temperatures reaching 103 degrees the locals wen 3 – 0 in pool play with wins over Battle Lax 5-3, Fuze 8-6, and Generals 12-6. On day two as temperatures cooled to 95 the Fever won their Semi Final game 9-2 over the Fuze and then met Battle Lax winning 9-3 in the Finals.
So far this summer 2017 Orange has a record of 11 – 0 and will hit the road again this weekend traveling to the Jersey Shootout. The Fever received balanced scoring and solid defensive play with outstanding goaltending.
After the game attackman Matt Boles said, “It was really hot but we knew the other teams were feeing it too, so we stuck to our game plan and it worked out for us.” Midfielder Mac Updike added, “This is a really fun and unselfish team and we all try to help each other and play team lacrosse.”
The team is Coached by Paul & Perry O’Grady, and Roddy Marino.
