Boys’ youth lacrosse: Philly Fever 2017 Blue wins U-13AA title at All-Met Challenge

The Philly Fever 2017 Blue won the U-13AA Championship in the searing heat the weekend of July 7-8 at the All-Met Lacrosse Challenge Tournament. The event was held at Georgetown Prep in Bethesda, MD.

With temperatures topping 100 degrees on Saturday, Fever 2017 Blue went 2-1 in pool play. They posted wins over Militia Lacrosse Club (PA) and FuZe Lacrosse (VA). Their only loss in pool play was a one point heartbreaker to Club Blue (MD).

With the humidity increasing and temperatures still soaring the boys would face Club Blue again on Sunday in the semi-finals and this time take the victory by a score of 9-4. In the championship, Fever 2017 Blue defeated a strong Fever 2018 Orange team 4-1 behind outstanding goalkeeping to claim the championship.

The Fever 2017 Blue is coached by Head Coach Mark Duncan and Assistant Coaches Vince Garman, Matt Mason and Brad Garcia. Players include: Attackmen Chad Allison, Alex Bernicker, Matt Cara, Peter Moeller, James Thatcher; Middies Emmett Burns, Daniel Cassidy, Ben Garcia, Will Heustis, Alqon Mouser, Garrett Myers, Andrew Pickett, Christopher Rushton, Aidan Veno, Michael Vent; Defensemen Nick Cutuli, Bobby Gibson, Alex Grafstrom, Davis Martinelli, Ryan Peckheiser, Tanner Romano, Luck Terracciano and Goalie: Danny Tierney.
