Boys’ Under Armour Underclassmen Games: Philly downs Long Island, 7-5, to finish 4-0 and earn top playoff seed

Matt Rambo (La Salle) scored his third game-winning goal for the tournament as team Philly earned a 7-5 victory this morning over Long Island to finish pool play at 4-0 in the Under Armour Underclassmen Games at Towson University.

Philly claimed the top seed for the Red Division and will play Washington d.C., the Blue Division runner-up, in the semifinals at 12:45 p.m. on Field 2.

Rambo had three goals and an assist while Brandyn O’Connell (Downingtown East) and Reilly Hupfeldt (Haverford School) each had a goal and an assist for Philly. Paul Major (Spring-Ford) and Chris Hilburn (Malvern Prep) also scored for Team Philly. Robbie Zonino (Conestoga) was a standout with eight saves in the second half while Zach Penfil (Garnet Valley) and Mark Gurenlian (Springfield-Delco) each were strong at the face-off X.
