The Mesa Fresh 2016 girls’ lacrosse team gathered last week to stuff 20 stockings for the Salvation Army. The Mesa Fresh Organization strongly encourages community service for its lacrosse team members.

The 2016 Mesa coaches, Jodi Orr and Laurie Johnson, both agree with this philosophy and believe that “lacrosse is a sport that gives back to the community.”

This event was organized and hosted by team parent Suzanne Morris. “It was so great to see the girls work as a team to organize the gift items and fill the stockings,” said Morris.

The girls filled the stockings with lotions, socks, gloves, hats, toiletries, school supplies and small toys. The Salvation Army will distribute the 20 stockings to children in the Philadelphia area.

The members of the 2016 Mesa Fresh team finished the evening with a delicious homemade pasta dinner. “It was a fun and productive event,” said team member Paige Loose.

The Mesa girls are preparing for its next small sided tournament at Gettysburg College in February.

Happy Holidays from the 2016 Girls’ Mesa Fresh team.
