College Choice: Marquette

Other Colleges Considered: Ohio State, Hofstra, Drexel, Villanova, Dartmouth, Amherst

Club Affiliations: Duke’s LC, Main Line Lacrosse Club

Major lacrosse honors, showcases: Honors: 2011 Honorable Mention Suburban One American Midfield; 2012 First Team Suburban One American Midfield; 2012 Second Team Times Herald All Area. Showcases: Maverik Showtime, Blue Chip 225, Big 4, Quaker LaxFest, Rutgers Fall Lacrosse Classic, Tri-State

What will you major in/study? Business Major

Why did you choose Marquette? “I chose Marquette because of the high value they place on academics. They offer a wide range of courses in the business field and have a quality Business School. On my visit I really liked the campus and the city of Milwaukee. The campus is located right outside the city and feels like it’s own. I also like that downtown Milwaukee and Lake Michigan are only short walks away from the campus.”

“The other deciding factor was the coaches. I felt a great fit with Coach (Joe) Amplo and Coach (Stephen) Brundage. I really like how they are looking to play tough blue collar lacrosse, which suits my style of play.”

Outlook for your high school team? “I believe that our team can win the Suburban One and compete in Districts. We have a lot of returning players and if we continue to work hard anything is possible.”

Additional Comments: “First, I would like to thank Coach (Jeff) Calhoun and Norristown Youth Lacrosse because that is where I started playing lacrosse. Next, I would like to thank my 6-8 grade coach/mentor Paul Volkmer. He has taught me mostly everything I know about lacrosse and has also helped me grow as a person.

“I also want to thank my Duke’s coaches; Coach Ebe Helm, Jason Christmas, and Mike Mackrides. They have helped me to continue to improve my game and get me noticed by college coaches. I want to thank my Main Line Coaches, Coach Simon Connor and Andrew German for teaching me how this whole recruiting process works, and they helped me with developing my game. They helped me get a better feel for settled offense and I feel their coaching contributed to improving my game.

“Next I would like to thank current Villanova lacrosse player Paul Mita for helping me develop my lacrosse IQ. He would help me when he could make one of our high school practices and/or games. I also want to thank my face-off coach Mike Dolente. He has taught me everything I know about face-offs and I owe all my face-off skills to his teaching. I want to thank Coach Roman Kupecky and Evan Bohner, two of my high school coaches that have taught me the offensive and defensive sides of the ball. Huge Thank you to Coach Brady McCormick who has taught me many things, both on and off the field. He played a very important role in getting me noticed by colleges and I have a great amount of respect for him. I want him to know how much I appreciate everything that he has done for me.

“Lastly I would like to thank my family and my parents. They have given me support through ups and downs and criticism that helped me to get better as a player. They have also spent a lot of money and time on me in order for me to play this sport, whether it would be training, taking me on a visit, or up to a camp. They have really helped me out and I just can’t thank them enough.”
