Duckenfield named head girls’ lacrosse coach at Agnes Irwin

Agnes Irwin School has named Jenny Duckenfield as its head girls’ lacrosse coach.

Duckenfield guided Mount St. Joseph to a 13-6 record and a berth in the District 1 tournament last year in her only season there. Duckenfield also led Strath Haven to a share of its first Central League championship and a state playoff berth in 2010 when she was named a Phillylacrosse.com Honorable Mention Coach of the Year.

Duckenfield was the head coach of the Philly team at the Under Armour Underclassmen in 2012 and serves as Director of the Philly Girls’ Showcase, a major recruiting event held in November at Episcopal Academy. She also runs fall and winter leagues and coaches for Ultimate Goal Lacrosse.

Agnes Irwin is a a member of the Inter-Ac League.

“My coaching philosophy is simple: hard work leads to success on and off the field,” said Duckenfield. “My team goals are to improve upon 2012 record and develop a passion for the game.

“The Inter-Ac has a great tradition of rivalry and we are working towards Agnes Irwin becoming a competitive lacrosse program.”
