The evaluation process for the 2014 U.S. men’s national team, which began at last month’s “Duel in Denver,” will continue next month at the first annual Capital Lacrosse Invitational at Landon School in Bethesda, Md.
Philly players are trying to make the US team that will compete in 2014 in the FIL World Championships in Denver.
Team USA head coach Richie Meade and his assistant coaching staff have picked 52 players to play in a four-quarter, intrasquad scrimmage at 3 p.m. on Oct. 7. The day, presented by the Mario St. George Boiardi Foundation, will also feature scrimmages between Cornell, Johns Hopkins, North Carolina and Penn State and a youth clinic and coaches’ clinic. For more information on the clincs, email: theboiardifoundation@gmail.com.
Before the USA scrimmage, Cornell faces North Carolina at 10:30 a.m. and Penn State plays Johns Hopkins at the same time. At 12:30 p.m., Cornell will play Hopkins, while Penn State takes on UNC.
