Henderson senior attackman Owen Evans has committed to play Division III lacrosse at Washington College.
Owen Evans log:

Owen Evans
High School: B. Reed Henderson High School
Graduation Year: 2013
Position: Attack
College Choice: Washington College
Club Affiliations: Dukes LC, ManUp
Major lacrosse honors: Deaver Payne Memorial Award, Heart of a Warrior Award, Bauer Blue Collar Player of the Game, 2nd Team All Chesmont,
Academic honors: National Honor Society, The National Society of High School Scholars
What will you major in/study? Undecided
Why did you choose the school? “Washington College fits academically and has a rich history of high level lacrosse. Coach (Jeff) Shirk and Coach (Chris) Miller have developed a culture of playing the right way and winning, something I look forward to being a part of (“Play Hard / Stick Together”). The Centennial Conference is very competitive and every game is a battle.”
Outlook for 2013 HS season: “We lost a lot of contributing seniors last year (in a 17-3 season), however, we still have a core amount returning varsity players that includes our goalie and most of the defense. Offensively we’ll need to have some of the younger players step up and contribute.”
Other schools considered: Franklin & Marshall, Gettysburg, Ursinus, and Drexel
Other comments: “I would like to thank Coach (Paul) Stankewicz for everything from the very beginning to now. Thank you Larry Evans and Coach Sean Evans (Henderson). Thank you to all the Dukes LC Coaches; Coach Ebe, Coach Christmas, and Coach Vertrone. Thank you Coach Jim Schorn, (ManUp), for everything you helped me with along the way.(WC Lacrosse League): Thank you,Tom Dunn, Eric Fink and Mike Bauer. A special thank you to Coach (Bob) Britton for all the positive support and coaching.
“Finally, I would like to thank my parents for all their help and support.”
