Lacrosse Magazine is reporting that the 2013 NCAA Division I women’s lacrosse final four will be played at 12,500-seat Villanova Stadium over Memorial Day weekend. The news was confirmed by an NCAA official, Lacrosse Magazine reported today.
The semifinals will be held Friday, May 24 and the championship Sunday, May 26 at times to be determined, according to Lacrosse Magazine. The games will be televised on an ESPN platform, also to be determined.
Meanwhile, the 2013 Division I men’s Final Four and Division II and III championships will be held May 25-27 at Lincoln Financial Field, as hosted by Drexel University.
Now, both Division I national champions will be crowned in the City of Brotherly Love.
The women’s championships were last held in Philadelphia in 2007, when Northwestern won its third straight national championship at Penn, which also made the Final Four.
Villanova was host to the inaugural Big East men’s lacrosse tournament this spring. PPL Park hosted two NCAA Division I men’s quarterfinals.
