Bandits Lacrosse club to join with NXTsports; Ambler to remain as director

NXTsports and Bandits Lacrosse are proud to announce the formation of a new partnership. The Bandits Lacrosse Program will join with NXTsports while retaining their own name, logo and identity.

Most aspects of Bandits Lacrosse will remain unchanged. Colin Ambler, founder of Bandits Lacrosse, will continue to serve as Bandits Club Director. However, management and planning across the organizations will become more streamlined, allowing a greater focus dedicated towards curriculum development, instruction, player growth and new programming.

Similarly, NXT coaching staff will begin assisting and working with Bandits players and staff, beginning with this weekend’s Bandits tryouts.

During the off-season between summer and fall, the management of Bandits Lacrosse and NXT were in close contact, discussing the potential synergies present in a collaborative relationship. The newly formed team can hardly wait for a fresh chapter to begin.

Said Andy Hayes, President of NXTsports, “As outside observers, we have been highly impressed with Colin Ambler and his work in building the Bandits program. After getting to know Colin, the underlying common denominator and foundation of our organizations is the quality of personnel.

“We both pride ourselves on recruiting only the highest caliber of individuals to join our mission. This includes coaches, players, families and administrators. We are very proud to merge with the Bandits program, and can’t wait to work with Bandits players and families.”

“NXTsports is a first-class organization and team of innovators,” said Ambler. “As a former competitor, NXT challenged me, and the Bandits program, to keep pace.

“I have tremendous respect for their program, its coaches and teams they have developed. We share the same values for lacrosse philosophy, expectations of players & coaches and a collective standard of excellence.

“Working closely together is an incredibly exciting time for both of our programs and promises to be a truly special lacrosse experience for each family involved.”

NXT and Bandits Lacrosse believe by working together both parties will be able to maximize collective knowledge, experience, networks and efforts. The potential is limitless, and the road ahead begins with Bandits tryouts scheduled for this weekend.

This Fall Bandits Lacrosse is fielding the following teams:
• Varsity (2014)
• High School Rising (2015/2016)
• Eighth Grade (2017)
• Seventh Grade (2018)
• Sixth Grade (2019)
• Fifth Grade (2020)

All Bandits Lacrosse teams will practice throughout the fall and summer seasons, and will participate in an elite fall, winter and summer tournament schedule. Details of the tournament schedule will be released soon.

Open tryouts for Bandits Lacrosse will be held starting on September 15 at Huntingdon Fields, 1200 Huntingdon Road, Abington, PA. Check out BanditLax.com for more tryout details and registration. Click here for Phillylacrosse.com article on tryouts.
