Upper Merion rising senior attackman Trevor Kupecky was a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) National team that won its second straight U18 gold medal Wednesday at the Lake Placid Lacrosse tournament by defeating Liberty (N.Y.), 8-7 in the finals.
Dylan Maltz (Stone Bridge, VA/Syracuse) scored three goals and earned MVP honors while Stephen Kelly (Calvert Hall, MD/North Carolina) was dominant at the face-off X as FCA rallied from an early 3-1 deficit. Kupecky had an assist.
FCA toppled Coldbrook Lake (N.Y.) in the semifinals, 10-7.
“My experience at Lake Placid was awesome,” said Kupecky. “Playing for the FCA national team was a lot of fun because I was surrounded by other talented players from all over the country who share the same faith as me.
“The competition at the tournament was pretty tough and winning the championship was a great experience to share with my teammates.”
