From Press Release
Penn State Abington Head Women’s Lacrosse Coach Deb Andress announced her resignation Friday following two seasons with the Nittany Lions women’s lacrosse program.
“When we decided to add the sport of women’s lacrosse to our intercollegiate sport offerings, I hoped that Deb Andress would be our first head coach,” said Director of Athletics Dr. Karen Weaver. “Now four years old, our program is on a stronger foundation thanks to Deb’s passion for the game.”
Andress, who returned to the women’s lacrosse program as its head coach in 2010 after taking a medical leave to fight a cancerous brain tumor in 2008, departs with a career record of 5-21 and amassed the most wins overall amongst the three head coaches in program history.
During her head coaching tenure, Penn State Abington made its first appearance in the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Tournament in 2012. Andress had six Lady Lions garner NEAC All-Conference recognition in her tenure.
A national search for Andress’ replacement will begin immediately.
