Philly Boys’ Under Armour Underclassmen Games tryouts, from 5-to-8 p.m., June 12 and 13 at Radnor High. The Philly team will be coached by Brian Samson, who has guided Conestoga to three straight Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) championships. His assistants will be Pat McDonough (Penn Charter) and Tom Lemieux (Springfield-Delco).

The 10-team tournament will be held June 29-July 1. In addition to the Philly teams, squads will come from Baltimore, Long Island, Midwest, New England, New Jersey, South, Upstate NY and Washington, D.C. and West. Philly players can come from Pennsylvania or Delaware. Click here to register for the tryouts.

Clinics

American Indoor Lacrosse League training for college players, sessions being run by Johnny Mouradian, Head Coach of the Philadelphia Wings, and Steven Holmes, current Wings and Denver Outlaw player. Sessions start Tuesday, June 12 at BucksMont in Hatfield (every Tuesday for 8 weeks) and on Wednesday, June 13, United Sports (every Wednesday for 8 weeks). LAXZONE PHILADELPHIA’s 3rd Annual Summer Series Lacrosse Clinic/summer league at SPARK fields, Upper Dublin. on Monday and Wednesday afternoons from June 18 – August 1, 2012. All players must be members of US Lacrosse. Summer Series is a specialized program designed for boys in middle school and high school who wish to develop their skills and lacrosse knowledge in a constructive, positive environment. Each session will address skill development, Offense/Defense strategy and “Transition School” getting all players up and down the field. This program is recommended for entry and intermediate level players who wish to improve their game. Summer Series is staffed by current/former collegiate players from the local area. Each coach is selected specifically to teach the skills they have developed at the collegiate level: dodging, shooting, stick protection, defensive positioning, checks and goalie play.

Arrowhead Lacrosse summer clinic from June 26-28 at Middletown Community Park for boys 7-9th grade boys as of Fall ‘12. The clinic will be designed for players looking to take their game to the high school level or compete at a high level youth club. The clinic will have a strict focus on position work and bring the groups together at the end to reinforce concepts learned.

Arrowhead Lacrosse’s 7th annual Lower Bucks Lacrosse Summer League. Games will be played at Middletown Community Park. The league will run over the course of six weeks with each team getting at least one game a week, finishing with a championship playoff in the final week. The league begins Monday June 18th and runs through Monday July 30th (there will be no games Monday July 2nd.). High school games will begin at 6pm and 7pm, running on two different fields. Each game will consist of two 25 min. running halves. Each game will have certified officials and limited “summer league” contact. Players are to sign up individually, coaches do not need to collect money or organize their team. Players will be asked to register with their high school teams when they sign up. If there are not enough players to make up one high school team, we will be putting together a “mix” team that will be coached by one of the members of the Arrowhead staff.

The 5th Annual Patriot Games Youth Lacrosse Showcase, July 21-22, at 3 venues in Bucks County, Pennsylvania – Herbst Field Complex, home of the Central Bucks Athletic Association, Palisades High School, and New-Hope Solebury High School. The event has teams from al traditional hotbeds and has drawn talented contingents from Canada and emerging regions of the country, including California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Tennessee, Texas and Wisconsin. Past events have also included “Bridge” programs from Baltimore and Philadelphia. This year, the Patriot Games has been selected by NDP Lacrosse as an “Official Qualifying Event” for the Dick’s Sporting Goods Tournament of Champions, which will take place outside of Tampa in January 2013. Top finishing teams in selected divisions will earn bids to join other top club teams from around the nation to compete in the high profile, national championship event.

The Patriot Games offers Youth and High School brackets. Youth brackets (U11, U13, U15) are broken down into 3 divisions (AA, A and B) to ensure teams are playing at the appropriate level and to optimize competition. High School brackets feature A & B divisions and consist of JV/Rising Stars (Rising Freshmen/Class of 2016; Rising Sophomores/Class of 2015) and Varsity/Elite (Rising Seniors/Class of 2013 or younger). As in 2011, teams in each age group will be recognized for sportsmanship based largely on sportsmanship scorecards kept by certified officials and site marshals after each game, taking into account the spirit of the game and conduct on both sides of the field, including spectators.
