Summer girls’ lacrosse camp: Lace Em Up for La youth camp honors legacy of Laura Meikle Koch (La)

Lace Em Up for La Lacrosse Camp to benefit the Laura Meikle Koch Foundation will be held on June 11th-14th from 5-8 p.m. for girls aged 8-15.

The fee is $100. Location: Great Valley Middle School.

Learn from current head and assistant coaches from the Philadelphia Area including: Mary Fran Riffel(former Penn Charter coach) Laura Capuano (Bayard Rustin), Beth Smiley( Bayard Rustin), Deb Sloan (Bayard Rustin), Molly O’Hara (Villa Maria), Kelli Romano (GA), Lisa Schweiger(Avon Grove) as well as current and former collegiate stand outs. Each night will include: Team Building, dynamic warm up, speed/agility drills, lacrosse drills and scrimmages. Come play lacrosse for a great cause!

Laura Meikle Koch (La) is considered one of the all time greatest soccer and lacrosse players to ever wear a West Chester Henderson jersey. A graduate of Drexel University she left that Division I program as the all time leader in goals and points for game, season and career.

La, a veterinarian technician loved animals almost as much as her family and friends. La lost her battle to lung cancer on June 13th 2008, after courageously fighting this terrible disease for months. To honor her legacy the Lace Em Up for La Lacrosse Camp was started.

For the past 3 years the camp has had over 75 girls in attendance. “La” lived her life and played sports with love, kindness, passion, selflessness, determination and courage. Learn from some of her fellow teammates and friends at the Lace Em Up for La Lacrosse Camp.
