Saturday’s girls’ high school highlights: Moorestown tops Shawnee; Unionville wins in OT, EA drops pair to MD powers

Haleigh Dalmass had five goals and three assists and Steph Toy added four goals and two assists as Moorestown defeated rival Shawnee, 16-8, Saturday in front of a large home crowd on Girls’ Lacrosse Appreciation Day.

The Quakers, ranked No. 1 by Phillylacrosse,com, improved to 9-0 while the Renegades fell to 6-1.

Marie McCool had three goals and three assists as well as three draw controls and Amanda Currell had 10 saves. Mary Flick, Lindsay Goldblatt and Toy each contributed three ground balls

Junior Shannon Nugent led Shawnee with three goals and Nicole Troost added two. Freshman goalie Lily Argyle was strong in the cage.

Unionville 11, Patterson Mill (MD) 10, OT

Kris Abens had four goals, including the game-winner off a feed from Kelly Close, to lift the Indians (6-2-1).

Close and Annabeth Donovan each had two goals and an assist for Unionville.

Roland Park 16, Episcopal Academy 11
Dulaney 12, Episcopal Academy 10

EA dropped two games to top Maryland teams in the Roland Park Redhot Invitational.

Against Roland Park, an IAAM power, MC Curran led EA with five goals and Schuyler Aitken had three goals and an assist.

In the defeat to Dulaney, Curran and Madison Craft each had two goals and an assist for EA. Lindsey Reder was a standout in goal in both games.

Conestoga 15, Downingtown East 12

Meghan McGillis had five goals and Abby Lord added three for the Pioneers in the non-league win.

Mackenzie Rafferty led the Cougars with four goals while Linnea Faccenda had three goals and four assists and Nicole Verretta added a hat trick.

Springfield-Delco 17, West Chester East 4

Alex Poplawski had four goals and two assists in the non-league win for the Cougars (9-1).
