Visiting Toronto shut out the Philadelphia Wings, 6-0, in the second half and Josh Sanderson had a natural hat trick in a six-point first half as the Rock clipped the Wings, 15-6, in an Eastern Division first-place showdown at the Wells Fargo Center.
Sanderson, the NLL Offensive Player of the Week, notched his hat trick in a 4:23 span late in the second quarter that stretched Toronto’s lead to 9-5. He had six assists and nine points in the game.
Stephan Leblanc scored four goals and Garrett Billings had a goal and eight assists for Toronto (3-2). The defending NLL champions are atop the Eastern Division after an 0-2 start.
Dan Dawson, Kevin Crowley, Brodie Merrill, David Brock and Ned Crotty each had a goal and an assist as Philadelphia (2-2) saw its two-game win streak snapped.
