The Villanova Wildcats gained the upper hand early on Friday evening at Villanova Stadium and never looked back en route to a 19-5 victory over the Wagner College Seahawks.
The victory improves the Wildcats’ record to 4-2 overall and took place on an evening that offered a taste of spring, with temperatures in the 70s.
Junior Justine Donodeo set the scoring pace for the Wildcats with five goals and two assists. Sophomore Maria Bowman lent her support with three goals and two assists for a total of five points. Freshman Ali Judge added three goals on the night and classmate Katie Collopy chipped in with a pair of goals.
In net, freshman Julia Todd handled the first 50 minutes of action, making four saves, before sophomore Amanda Hirschfeld came on to keep the Seahawks in check over the final nine plus minutes.
