With many scholastic head coaches hired in recent days, assistant coaches remain in high demand in Philly

Want to get into the business of coaching scholastic lacrosse in the Philadelphia region?

The opportunities are surely there.

As the 2011 scholastic season nears, many Philly coaches are still searching for assistant coaches. In recent weeks, many head coaching jobs have been filled, but some of these coaches also are looking for assistants as well.

Boys’ jobs have been filled at Archbishop Wood (Jim Beury) as well as Lower Merion, Sun Valley and Phoenixville (names have not been officially released) in recent days. Girls’ jobs have been filled at Pennridge (former assistant Heidi Rimmer) and Hatboro-Horsham (name has not been released).

Several, including Lansdale Catholic and Mount St. Joseph, are in the process of interviewing for head girls’ coaches.

But many assistant jobs remain (see below).

Malvern Prep assistants

Malvern Prep seeks enthusiastic, qualified coach to lead its junior varsity lacrosse teams. Currently we are looking to fill the following positions, JV A and JVB Head Coach and JVA and JVB assistant coach. Prior playing or coaching experience required. All of these are paid positions. Archbishop Wood assistant coaches

Elizabethtown (Lancaster County) JV coach

Elizabethtown Area High School seeks enthusiastic, qualified coach to lead its junior varsity boys lacrosse team. Please contact head coach Jeremy Adams at to express your interest and qualifications.

Council Rock South assistant varsity coach

We are looking for a motivated, knowledgeable and passionate individual to be an assistant coach for the varsity squad. The applicant should have high school coaching experience and/or college playing experience. Looking for Head or Assistant Coach for Girl’s Lacrosse Club Team for grades 9-12th at Oxford Area High School, (Located in Lower Chester County, 30 minutes North of Delaware). Lacrosse experience and/or coaching experience preferred. The season runs from March 1st to mid May. Practice times and days are flexible around coaching availability.
