Ed McLoughlin pumped in five goals and Barry Downes added three while Colin Lord made 10 saves as host Cardinal O’Hara defeated Archbishop Carroll, 13-5 Wednesday in a Catholic League boys’ lacrosse game.
Tom Familetti and Joe Simpson each scored two goals for the Lions, who improved to 3-1 in the league and 5-4 overall.
Brian Keith led Carroll (4-4, 2-2) with three goals and Tom Mitchell made 16 saves.
Archbishop Ryan, 14, Conwell-Egan 8
Tim Taylor collected five goals and an assist and Kevin Nelms added three goals and two assists to lead the Raiders to the Catholic League win.
Pat Haselbarth had two goals and two assists while Dillon Cave and Nick Levan each scored twice and Nick Harkins (one assist) scooped five groundballs for Ryan.
St. Josephs Prep 22, Conwell Egan 0
Fenton Fitzpatrick collected five goals and an assist and Brad James had three goals and one assist for the Prep in the Catholoic League win.
La Salle 16, Lansdale Catholic 1
The Explorers (6-3) won their sixth in a row with the easy Catholic League victory.
Pete White scored for LC and Chad Adams made 18 saves.
Holy Ghost Prep 16, Delco Christian 1
Tom Montague and Jeremy Omrod each had two goals and three assists for the Firebirds in the Bicentennial League win.
Owen. J. Roberts 9, Methacton 7
Nick Tordone had three goals and Gabe Szczepanik made 17 saves for the Wildcats in the PACV-10 victory.
Bishop Shanahan 16, Strath Haven 2
oe McErlean scored four goals and Kevin Shaddock added three goals to pace the Eagles (6-1).
Mount Olive (NJ) 17, Blair Academy (NJ) 10
Allentown’s Andrew Iacocca had four goals, three assists and 10 groundballs for the Buccaneers (4-4) in their non-league loss to Mount Olive. Iacocca, a junior midfielder/attackman, has
34 goals and 23 assists this year for Blair.
Spring-Ford 17, Pope John Paul II 2
The Rams poured home 11 unanswered goals in the first quarter and cruised to a victory over PJP.
Paul Major and Zach Monzo hit for five goals apiece as the Rams improved to 9-0 in the league, 10-1 overall. PJP (1-6) got nine saves from Josh Bildstein in defeat.
Perkiomen Valley 17, Phoenixville 8
Pete Sclafani struck for four goals as the Vikings squared their PAC-10 slate at 3-3 (5-3 overall). Ryan Boyd (3 goals, 3 assists), Shawn Laskey (2 goals) and Dennis Flynn (2 goals) also contributed for PV, offsetting a four-goal outing by Phoenixville’s Matt Randall.
Adding two goals for the Phantoms (0-6 league, 1-6 overall) was Brendan Bonner.
