Keystone All-Star Face-Off Clinics, at Ampro Field House, 30 Bunting Lane Primos, on Super Bowl Sunday, February 6. Free indoor Clinic and Playday for city boys and girls aged 8 to 18 on Saturday, Feb. 12, by LEAPS Lacrosse, at the Girard College Armory Herrick Fieldhouse. Girard College is located at 2101 South College Ave., Philadelphia. The event begins at 10 a.m. and runs until 1 p.m. The event partners include the Black Women in Sport Foundation, the Duke’s Lacrosse Club, Episcopal Academy and Haverford School. No lacrosse experience is necessary to participate and no jeans or boots can be worn. Sneakers are required and athletic attire is preferred. President’s Day Shooting Clinic, by Keating Lacrosse, Monday afternoon, Feb. 21, for youth boys’ players [grades 5 through 8] at the BucksMont Indoor Sports Center in Hatfield. The Clinic Director is Dan Keating, an Assistant Lacrosse Coach at Lehigh University and a former Duke University midfielder.
Key Points of Clinic:
• Shooting: To teach the fundamental movements of shooting through a variety of drills and exercises. Personalized instruction and maximum amount of repetition is our focus. We break down the art/science of shooting into its most basic form. We encourage players of all positions to attend, even defensemen. Bring your long poles!
• Players should anticipate a progressive approach to learning different ways to shoot and play offense: catch and shoot, shooting on the run, dodging and shooting, and other offensive principles. Shooting is about mass repetition!
• The cost of the clinic is $40.00. Payment and registration are handled through the BucksMont website: www.bucksmontisc.com
• 5th-6th graders: 1:00-3:00. Please arrive 10 minutes before the start of the clinic for check-in.

• Players of all abilities are welcome. Never undermine the value of the fundamentals of lacrosse. We teach many of the same drills and principles that Division One men’s lacrosse players learn in practice each day.

Officials Clinics
David Seidman, Rules Interpreter for the GPLOA, will be holding a rules review/test prep session on Thursday, February 3, 2011 at LaSalle College HS in room 204 from 7:00PM until approximately 8:30. Anyone planning to take the test on February 7th is encouraged to attend. Admission is free, but advance registration is requested. The 2011 Adult Cadet Training classes, run by the Greater Philadelphia Lacrosse Officials Association (GPLOA), at La Salle College High School, in room 204, beginning on Thursday, February 17th from 7 pm to 9 pm. Additional classes will be held at La Salle on 2/24, 3/3, 3/7, 3/21 and 3/28. Cadets will also attend the GPLOA Kick-Off Clinic on Sunday, February 28th. Cost of the course will be $40. Each cadet will receive a 2011 NFHS Rulebook and a 2011 US Lacrosse Officials Training Manual. Additional US Lacrosse and GPLOA dues will be explained at the first class.

The Lehigh Lacrosse Experience Overnight Camp – Grades 5-10 , Tuesday June 28th – Friday July 1. This camp is designed for upper grade school, middle school and high school players of all skill levels who want to enjoy the combination of exceptional lacrosse instruction and a fun-filled residential experience. Each camper will receive a first-hand look at what it is like to be a Lehigh Lacrosse Player, while enjoying four days of instruction, three nights’ accommodation, and meals in our deluxe on-campus dining center. Each full day will include three independent on-field sessions (morning, afternoon, evening) that will focus on teaching fundamental skills and concepts, practicing half-field and full-field live game situations, and applying the skills and concepts from those game situations to the scrimmages and games. Lehigh will be offering advance instruction within its High School Division specifically designed for the high school player. The program is catered towards players seeking a better understanding of the recruiting process and how to best prepare themselves for to be successful at the collegiate level. The College Prep Division will include seminars on lacrosse specific speed and strength training, the recruiting process (what to expect and how to be prepared), academics and their impact on success, and a special seminar on leadership and character building. The Lehigh Valley Showcase , July 26-28, 2011 at Lehigh’s Bethlehem campus, will feature three days of advanced training, games, instructional combine and seminars, culminated by the all-star showcase on the final day. The camp will be run by Lehigh coaches and players with assistance from college coaches. Camp will feature no more than 200 participants. Campers will stay at the Lehigh dorms. All sessions of the Showcase will be filmed and made available to participants for personal use following the event. Campers also will receive printouts on strength and speed training combine activities such as the 40-yard dash, bench press and the vertical leap.
Each camper will play in at least six games during the camp. Seminars will be held for recruiting/academics, and leadership/character building. Many college coaches at the Division I, II and III level attend the All-Star Showcase and also serve as instructors. The All-Star Showcase will be held July 28th at 4:30 p.m. The camp will be co-directed by Lehigh coach Kevin Cassese (captain of World champion US National team and formerly of Philadelphia Barrage) and assistants Brendan Callahan and Taylor Wray (Philadelphia Wings defenseman/captain and assistant coach for Canadian National team). Tournaments
Philly Indoor Lacrosse Championships, Feb. 12-13 at the Feasterville Sportsplex. The main event will be on Saturday, Feb. 12 with a high school and club tournament open to 24 entrants. Teams will play round-robin group games followed by playoffs
to crown the Philly Indoor Lacrosse Champion. All teams are guaranteed at least four games and the winner will receive the Philly Indoor Lacrosse Cup. On Sunday, Feb. 13, 24 boys’ youth teams, featuring fifth through eighth graders will play three round-robin games each, and the winner of each four-team group will be awarded a trophy.
