Two Philly girls’ lacrosse teams to compete this week in Jewish Maccabi Games on home turf

Two Philly teams will compete in this week’s Jewish Community Center Maccabi Games being hosted by the Kaiserman JCC.

The Maccabi Games are for Jewish athletes aged aged 13 to 16. They are held every year in various sites around the US and draw athletes from several countries. Olympic-style competition is held in 14 spots.

One team is called Philadelphia and the other is PDJ (Philly/Delaware/South Jersey). The other teams are from the combined Baltimore/Denver/Richmond areas and from Great Britain.

Die to the inclement weather, lacrosse games will be held at Star Finder at 4015 Main Street in Manayunk.

Round robin games will be held Monday and Tuesday with playoff games on Wednesday and Thursday.
