Tuesday’s boys’ high school roundup, Late Edition: Avon Grove remains undefeated

Travor Hornby had three goals and two assists and Damian Sobieski added two goals and an assist as undefeated Avon Grove claimed a 9-5 victory over host Unionville Tuesday in Ches-Mont League boys’ lacrosse.

The Red Devils – ranked No. 2 in the PIAA in the state and No. 37 in the ESPN RISE Powerade Fab 50 – improved to 8-0 overall and 3-0 in the Ches-Mont League. The Indians are 2-5 overall and 0-3 in the league.

Billy Donovan scored twice for Unionville.

Sun Valley 8, West Chester East 3

Brian Warren tallied four goals for the Vanguards and Kyle Gillam added two goals and an assists while Matt Cieota had a goal and three assists in the Ches-Mont win.

Abington 10, Council Rock North 5

The Ghost scored the game’s final four goals to earn the Suburban One National win.

Ryan Ambler led the Abington attack with three goals and two assists and Brian Gallagher scored three times while Anthony Greco helped the Ghosts hold CRN scoreless for the final 20-plus minutes of the game.

Brian Fitzpatrick scored twice for the Indians and Mark McDonald kept it close with 15 saves.

Northeast: 11, Delaware Valley Charter 1

Matt Ragan and John Liebig each scored three goals for Northeast in the Public League victory.

Sambatt Choub scored for Delaware Valley.

Mastery Charter 5, Audenried 4, OT

Thomas Jones (two goals) tallied the game-winner and Aaron Grant scored three goals for Masstery Charter in the Public League win.
