Thursday’s girls’ high school roundup: Late Edition

Ashley Poli had three goals and an assist and McKenzie Rafferty added three goals while Allie Murray made 19 saves to lead host Downingtown East to a 9-7 victory over Great Valley Thursday in a battle of Ches-Mont League girls’ lacrosse leaders.

The win gives the Cougars (5-1 overall) a 3-0 mark in the Ches-Mont while the Patriots (5-1) fall to 2-1 in the league.

Ali Karwoski and Brook Gamble each had two goals for Great Valley.

Downingtown West 14, Coatesville 3

Jillian Sanders had five goals and an assist and Eva Winiarski added four goals and an assist to help the Whippets (5-0) remain undefeated in the Ches-Mont at 2-0.

Boyertown 13, Owen J. Roberts 2

Rachel Engler scored four goals and Amanda Smith added three for the Bears in their PAC-10 win.

Barrack 15, Perkiomen School 12

Tamar Parnet poured in nine goals and Sivan Ben-Maimon tallied four as Barrack (5-1, 3-0) remained undefeated in the Tri-County League.

Maddy Faraco scored four goals for Perk School.

Nazareth 14, Easton 8

Kaitlynn Wiltraut pumped in six goals, Rachel Repash contributed five goals and two assists and Rachel Strzelecki made 12 saves for Nazareth in the Lehigh Valley Conference win.

Natalie Constanie tallied three for Easton.

Villa Maria 13, Gwynedd Mercy 5

Jenna Mertz scored five goals, Erin Kelly had three, Cat Layne tallied two goals and an assist and Catherine Bendinelli scored twice to lead the Hurricanes to the Catholic Academies win.

Meg O’Brien had three goals for Gwynedd.

Sacred Heart 16, Villa Joseph Marie 11

Stephanie Finley collected eight goals and two assists and Eileen Dombrowski added four goals and three assists while Maggie Reilly made 15 saves for Sacred Heart in the Catholic Academies win.

Jenny Sandora scored four goals for VJM.

Pennsbury 9, Council Rock South 6

Kelsy Gumbert tallied four goals and Liana Eyre made 12 saves to lift the Falcons to the Suburban One National win.

Gabi Rosenfield scored three goals and Taylor Hurwitz had 13 saves in goal for the Golden Hawks.
