Seven former Wings named to Inside Lacrosse 25-year anniversary team for NLL

Seven former members of the Philadelphia Wings have been named to the Inside Lacrosse 25th anniversary Top 25 team for the National Lacrosse League. The rankings are listed in this months’ Inside Lacrosse magazine.

Kevin Finneran, rated No. 18 all-time in the NLL, played with the Wings from 1993-2002 and won four championships

Two of the top players ranked were brothers: Forward Gary Gait (No. 2, played with Wings from 1993-97) and forward Paul Gait (No. 4, 1993-94).

Other includes goalie Dallas Eliuk (No. 6, 1991-05), forward Tom Marechek (No. 9, 1994-05), forward Jake Bergey (No. 13, 1998-2008), forward Kevin Finneran (No. 18, 1993-02) and forward Mark Millon (No. 25, 2000-02).

Eliuk was rated as the top goalie and the Gait brothers were on the top line with Tavares.

John Tavares, 42, still playing a key role for the Buffalo Bandits, was listed at No. 1.

The rankings included 15 more players, in no particular order. Among them were current Drexel coach and former Wing Brian Voelker (defense, with winsg only, from 1992-98) and current Wings coach and charter Wing player John Tucker (forward, played for Wings, 1987-91).

The players were selected by Inside Lacrosse Indoor editor Paul Tutka and an expert panel of more than 50 players, coaches and analysts.
