The Episcopal Academy girls’ lacrosse team dropped two games against two top-ranked teams Saturday at the four-team Big Red Tournament at Roland Park Country Day School in Baltimore.
First EA (5-3) dropped a 9-6 decision to St. Stephen’s & St. Agnes (Va.). Taylor Trimble had three goals and an assist and Blake McHugh added two goals while Lindsey Reder excelled in goal with 13 saves.
St. Stephen’s & Agnes (19-2), ranked No. 33 in the ESPN RISE POWERADE Fab 50, got four goals and an assist from Kaity Austin.
In the consolation game, EA fell to host Roland Park (ranked No. 19), 19-17. Trimble tossed in seven goals and McHugh had five goals and two assists.
Audrey Todd also had seven goals for the Reds (10-4).
Emmaus 12, Nazareth 5
Junior Nicole Schmidt poured in a game-high four goals while junior Caitlin Bryan added a hat trick as the host Green Hornets remained unbeaten in the Lehigh Valley Conference (8-0) with a win over rival Nazareth.
Laura Seng and Aislinn Bryan also added a pair of tallies for the Hornets who improved to 10-2 overall. Angie DeBellis also added a goal and an assist before leaving the game early in the second half with a leg injury. Junior goalie Allison Haas was solid in net for Emmaus allowing just two second half goals.
For Nazareth, which fell to Emmaus for the second time this season, juniors Kaitlynn Wiltraut and Hilary Holecz had a pair of goals. The Blue Eagles are 5-2 in the LVC and 7-3 overall
