Philly women’s roundup: Rothstein, White, Curtin lead Lafayette to first win

Sophomore Jessica Rothstein (Harriton) scored three goals while freshman Ana White (Strath Haven) added two goals and an assist as host Lafayette earned its first win of the season Saturday as it toppled Davidson, 11-8, in non-conference women’s lacrosse.

Freshman goalie Meghan Curtin (Penn Charter) played her first full game in the net making four saves for the win.

Rutgers 13, Delaware 5

Freshman Chelsea Fay (Villa Maria Academy) and Corrine Drost each scored twice for the Blue Hens in defeat.

Florida 15, Lehigh 10

Lauren Dykstra and Megan Kelly each scored three goals for the Mountain Hawks in defeat.

Division II
Mercy 16, Chestnut Hill 10

Nicole Covella had five goals and an assist for the Griffins in their season opening loss.

Division III

Swarthmore 17, Notre Dame (Md.) 4

Strath Haven grad Annalise Penikis collected five goals, three assists and an amazing 15 draw controls and Annelisa Mowry added four goals to lead the Garnet to the easy win in their opener.

Gwynedd Mercy 14, Cazenovia 13

Colleen Dellostretto (Upper Moreland) led Gwynedd with four goals and two assists.
