Monday’s girls’ roundup: Downingtown East cruises; Boyertown survives scare

Emily Solenberger collected six goals and four assist to spark host Downingtown East to a 22-9 rout of St. John the Baptist, (N.Y.) today in non-league girls’ lacrosse.

Kelly Devlin added three goals and three assists and Linnea Faccenda had three goals and two assists for the Cougars (10-1) while Ashley Poli had three goals and one assist.

St. John the Baptist, of Long Island, fell to 4-5.

West Chester East 11, Bishop Shanahan 10

Morgan Gallagher had three goals and an assist and Steph Lobb scored three goals to pace East to the Ches-Mont League win. Julia Falcone and Hayley Tomilson each scored twice for the Vikings.

Hannah Goforth led the Eagles with three goals and Kathryn Skahan added two goals and two assists. Summer Jaros and Caroline Kuchinsky each added two goals.

Haverford High 14, Plymouth Whitemarsh 2

Katrina Geiger had five goals and an assist and Lauren Falasco added two goals and three assists while Jill Root had two goals and two assists to lead the Fords to the non-league win.

Jordyn Dunacusky had 16 saves for PW.

Boyertown 10, Spring-Ford 9

Kelly Furman had four goals and an assist and Rachel Engler scored twice as the Bears rallied from a 7-4 halftime deficit to remain undefeated in the PAC-10.

Maddie Ward led the Rams with five goals and Kira Geyser added two.

Upper Merion 17, Pope John Paul II 5

Mel Ryan had five goals and an assist and Casey Griffith contributed three goals and three assists to lead the Vikings to the non-league win.

Cheltenham 19, Upper Moreland 5

Madison Brunk collected four goals and three assists and Olivia Dudo had four goals to pace the Panthers to the Suburban One American Conference victory.

Chelsea Mills led the Bears with two goals and an assist.

Southern Lehigh 14, Jenkintown 8

Julia Nerreth had three goals and an assist and Keelin Salisbury had two goals and one assist to pace Southern Lehigh to the non-league win.

Tori Contoudis led the Drakes with three goals.

Council Rock North 17, Neshaminy 0

Kara Magley had four goals and five assists and Erica Green added three goals and an assist for the Indians in the Suburban One National win.

Gwynedd Mercy 6, Lansdale Catholic 5

Shannon Walsh scored four goals and Taylor O’Neil added one for LC, whose coach, Christi Karr, is a Gwynedd Mercy alum.

Mount St. Joseph 22 Nazareth Academy 6

Olivia Gannon had seven goals and an assist and Melissa Gavin contributed four goals, three assists, three groundballs and a caused turnover while Stevie Wells had 11 draw controls to go with a goal and an assist for the Mount in the Catholic Academies win.

Lindsay Fluehr led Nazareth with four goals and an assist.
