Monday’s boys’ roundup: Sporing-Ford tops Owen J. Roberts in PAC-10 showdown; Interboro, CB West, Abington win

Brian Bock and Paul Major each scored five goals and Dew Thomas added three goals and seven assists while Jared Novia made 24 saves as visiting Spring-Ford defeated Owen J. Roberts, 16-11, Monday night in a Pioneer Athletic Conference boys’ lacrosse showdown.

The Rams improved to 4-1 overall and 3-0 in the PAC-10. Three-time defending champion OJR fell to 2-3 and 2-1.
John Pennell led the Wildcats with four goals and two asitss and Nate Blevins scored twice.

Pope John Paul II 6, Phoenixville 3

Nick Pollick had three goals and James salvo added a pair while Matt Bildstein dished four assists and Josh Bildstein made 13 saves.

The PJP defense was led by standout efforts from Ryan Mitchell and, Tom Rodgers, and Mike Wynne. They allowed only one goal at full strength, the other two coming on man down opportunities.

Methacton 13, Boyertown 5

Cody Ridgway (3 goals, 4 assists), Clay Sobocinski (2 goals, 3 assists) and goalie Ryan Murphy (18 saves) led the Warriors, who improved to 2-1 in the PAC-10, 3-2 overall by turning a 4-2 intermission edge into a 10-3 advantage by the end of the third period.

Eli Miller was 11-of 17 from the X and Methacton was 2-for-2 with the man advantage.

Boyertown, which suffered its first loss of the season to drop to 1-1, 2-1, got two goals from Matt Salvetti.

Interboro 12, Monsignor Bonner 2

Kyle Rasley had four goals and an assist and Brian Van Wyk added three goals and one assist for the Bucs in their non-league win.

Central Bucks West 7, Neshaminy 2

Jack Firriolo had two goals and three assists while Matt Adamski and Evan Gervais each scored two goals for the Bucks in their non-conference win.

Jake Ross made saves for the victory.

Abington 17, Holy Ghost Prep 5

Matt Figueroa collected six goals and five assists to lead the Ghosts to their first win of the year.

Brian Gallagher added four goals while Nick Pisko and Matt Lomady each had two goals and an assist.

Brett Incollingo had three goals for Holy Ghost.
