Pat Heim (Conestoga) of the Boston Cannons scored the tying goal with 6:22 to play and Stephen Peyser (Long Island Lizards) won it with 2:49 to play as Team Warrior edged Team Authority, 21-20, tonight in the Sports Authority Major League Lacrosse All-Star Game before 11,186 at Harvard Stadium in Cambridge, Mass.

Heim also scored in the third period, along with Boston teammate PT Ricci (Conestoga/Malvern Prep assistant coach). Brad Ross, another member of the Cannons, led the Warrior team with three goals, including a two-pointer.

Goalie Drew Adams (Springfield-Delco) allowed seven goals and made seven saves for Team Authority. Michael Kimmel (two two-point goals) of the Chesapeake Bayhawks led Team Authority with five goals and a game-record nine points and was named Bud Light MVP.

Team Warrior was able to spread the wealth amongst their talented team with 10 different players scoring throughout the game. Denver’s Brendan Mundorf also tallied four points.

The half time Bud Light Skills Competition was full of action with the fastest shot, the freestyle contest and the all new goalie gauntlet. This year’s winners were Kyle Hartzell for fastest shot with a 102 mph shot, Boston Cannons’ midfielder Paul Rabil who won the freestyle competition for jumping over a blue Ford car while scoring a goal, and Denver Outlaws goalie Jesse Schwartzman who won the goalie gauntlet with an impressive 21 second time.

This year MLL chose two lucky fans through the “Ultimate MLL Fan Fantasy Contest” to become captains of the All-Star Game. Michael Hatala of Glen Cove, NY and Nathan Solomon of Alpharetta, Georgia were the lucky winners. They were able to hand pick their teams during Friday night’s selection party on the field at Harvard Stadium. Solomon fronted Team Warrior with Head Coach Brendan Kelly of the Chesapeake Bayhawks, while Hatala fronted Team Authority with Head Coach Bill Daye of the Boston Cannons.
