Peddie School (N.J.) senior attackman Tom Morford, of New Hope, has committed to play Division III lacrosse at Drew University.
Morford helped Peddie finish 11-8 last year as one of the team’s top scorers. He plays club lacrosse for Tri-State.
“Drew has a great psychology department, was the exact size I was looking for and the lacrosse program is the level I want to compete at,” said Morford. “Also the team is made up of some great guys. I got to know them during my overnight visit.”
At Drew, Morford will be mentored by coach Thomas Leanos, who has led the Rangers to 18 post-season berths during his tenure.
Morford plans to study psychology. “I really got into the subject when I took Neuroscience and behavior my junior year,” he said.
Last year Peddie’s lacrosse team lost to Lawrenceville for the Prep A title.
“This season the majority of our team is seniors and we’ve been mentally and physically ready since the winter,” said Morford. “This year we are a force to be reckoned with.”
