This is Phillylacrosse.com Editor Chris Goldberg at HersheyPark Stadium, blogging online as Downingtown East and Garnet Valley get set to meet for the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) championship.

The game will begin at about 1:20 due to the late ending of the PIAA girls’ soccer championship.

Several Philly coaches checked in before the game to give their predictions:
Unionville coach Wendy Landry: Garnet Valley 9, Downingtown East 8
Harriton coach George Dick: Garnet Valley 12, Downingtown East 11
Former Strath Haven coach Jen (Duck) Duckenfield: Downingtown East by two goals

The starting lineups are being introduced now. Both teams are making their first appearance in a state title game. Both coaches, Dt East’s Caitlin Barbakoff and GV’s Kate Henwood have done masterful jobs in getting their teams to the top of the heap this year. They met in the District 1 finals.

The weather is humid and overcast, but no sign of rain at the moment
