Lacrosse Evolution to host two free interactive boys’, girls’ youth coaches clinics

Lacrosse Evolution will hold two FREE interactive boys’ and girls’ youth coaches clinics on:

Saturday, March 5, at King of Prussia training center – (girls 10-11:30 a.m. and boys 11:30-1 p.m.)

Sunday, March 13, at Downingtown training center – (girls 7-8p.m. and boys 8-9p.m.)

LaxEvo founder Tom Slate, defensive coordinator for the NLL’s Philadelphia Wing’s and the new head coach of the MLL Denver Outlaws, and his staff will be working with area coaches to help them prepare for the 2011 season. The clinics will include a session on how to teach great defense, drills to improve attacking skills, helpful goalie tips from 2010 Team USA goalie Brian Dougherty and valuable information on how to structure a practice.

Local boys’ and girls’ high school players will also be on-hand to demonstrate live on the field what is being drawn up on the white marker boards. LaxEvo’s interactive coaches clinics are formatted to encourage the free flow of conversation and will include Q&A time at the end of each instructional session. The clinics are open to all coaches and those wishing to participate should e-mail with how many coaches will be attending and the name of your group.

“We are really looking forward to meeting with and sharing our years of experience with coaches from all over the Philadelphia area,” said Slate. “It is our goal to help players and their coaches realize their goals and to help grow the game.”

LaxEvo’s staff includes Ryan Cranston, Current player for the MLL’s Denver Outlaws and current LXMPro player; Chestnut Hill College men’s coach Brian Dougherty, 2010 Team USA goalie and one of the most accomplished goalies in the history of lacrosse; Dave Donovan, a C.S.C.S. certified strength and conditioning specialist; Chelsea Marshall, a former standout lacrosse player at Westchester University and Debbie Sloan, a two-time All CAA player of the year at the University of Delaware.
