Two Philly girls – Conestoga midfielder Emily McAleer (Phantastix Purple) and Spring-Ford’s Maddie Ward (PE Express) – were recognized by Inside Lacrosse after excelling in the first Elite 120 recruiting event last weekend in Randolph, N.J.
During the three-day event, which featured top sophomores and juniors from the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast regions, girls played in seven games and were tested in combine-style activities such as the 40-yard dash, vertical jump, a 5-10-5 shuttle run and a 300-yard shuttle run.
McAleer (seven draws) was cited by Inside Lacrosse for helping the Bears win the championship with standout play on the draw and by making several key turnovers on defense.
Ward tallied a tourney-high 24 goals on attack and flashed strong stick work, quickness, good moves around the net and an accurate shot, according to Inside Lacrosse.
