Girls’ lacrosse: Episcopal Academy tops Penn Charter, 14-6, to claim PA Independent School championship

Blake McHugh had five goals and an assist while MC Curran and Taylor Trimble each had three goals and an assist and Lindsey Reder made 14 saves as Episcopal Academy defeated Penn Charter, 14-6, today to win the Pennsylvania Independent School Athletic Association (PAISAA) championship at Eastern University.

Top-seeded EA (16-4), which clinched its seventh straight Inter-Ac League championship on Friday, can close out its season with a perfect Inter-Ac record by defeating Baldwin School today on the road.

Kelly Martellucci, Kathryn Burke and Ali Singley each scored once for EA, which led, 7-1, at halftime.

Amanda Fleming and Emma Ebert each had two goals for the third-seeded Quakers (10-8), while Blaine Steinberg added a goal and two assists and Leigh Steinberg had one goal.
