The 2011 Philly Boys Showcase will span three days and open on Friday with a special benefit doubleheader of games involving three Philly top club teams and a fourth from New Jersey at St. Joseph’s University.

All proceeds from this night will be donated to the NTAF fund in honor of local youth lacrosse player Logan Schweiter to assist with some of his many uninsured injury-related expenses. Logan, a member of the Conestoga Youth Lacrosse program, nearly drowned when trapped before being rescued from floodwaters near his Wayne home last July.

The schedule for Friday’s event at St. Joseph’s Finnesey Field:
• 6pm, Gates open at St. Joseph’s University
• 7pm, HEADstrong v. Mesa Fresh 2013, Finnesey Field
• 8pm, Dukes L.C. v. Leading Edge (N.J.), Finnesey Field

Said Taylor Wray, Men’s Lacrosse Coach at St. Joseph’s University, “We are happy to partner with NXT sports to host this event. Service and assisting those in need are core components of the University’s mission, and St. Joe’s is proud to assist in raising money for an important organization like NTAF and to support Philadelphia-area lacrosse.”

The Friday night event is open to all college coaches and to the public. The requested admission donation of $5 goes in full towards the NTAF Mid-Atlantic Traumatic Brain Injury Fund. There will also be a concessions stand with all proceeds going to NTAF.
