Brad Shenberger had three goals and an assist to lead a balanced attack as host Downingtown West opened its season with an 11-2 non-league victory Friday night over Wissahickon in high school lacrosse.”]

Tyler McWilliams and Tyler Keen each added two goals and two assists for the Whippets, while Eric Rankel scored twice and Zach Logan had a goal and two assists. Garrett Boon had what proved to be the game-winner in the second period.

Dustin Keen made 11 saves for the Whippets, who outscored the Trojans, 7-0, in the middle periods.

Christian McCaffrey and Tyler Crothers scored for the Trojans.

Penncrest 9, Unionville 4

Andrew Caldwell had three goals and an assist and Matt Klodarska added a goal and four assists to lead the Lions to the non-league win. Will Manganiello and Dan Belk added two goals apiece and Bill McKernan made nine saves for Penncrest.

Bill Donavan led the Indians with two goals.

Kennett 15, Marple Newtown 2

Kevin McQuiston had four goals and an assist, Evan Allvord had three goals and two assists and Jeff Tinkoff added two goals and two assists to lead Kennett.

Parkland 10, Delaware Valley 7

Kurtis Kaunas had three goals and two assists and Daniel Minnich added two goals and two assists while Andrew Chenworth made nine saves in goal to lead Parkland to the win.

Garnet Valley 9, Hatboro-Horsham 4

Steve Smyrl had three goals to lead the Jaguars to victory.

Strath Haven 4, Sun Valley 2

Kevin Sherry tallied three goals and Steve Brodeur made eight saves for the Panthers in their win.

Perkiomen Valley 12, Pennridge 1

Pete Sclafani collected 10 points with seven goals and three assists for PV..

Other multiple point scorers for the Vikings were Ryan Boyd (2 goals, 3 assists) and Jamie Klementisz (goal, 2 assists). PV also got goals from Wes Johnson and freshman Sean Tornetta and assists from Jake Lynn and Sean Laskey.

Dave Duryea and Lou Fioravanti anchored the Vikings defense in front of freshman keeper Bryce Womak, who contributed seven saves.

Phoenixville 11, Daniel Boone 9

The Phantoms took their season opener as Matt Randall found the net for five goals and Alex Clark added two more.

Phoenixville’s other goals were scored by Brendan Bonner, Vinny D’Innocenzo, Ryan Pannella and Mason Kulp.

Council Rock North 11, Central Bucks South 5

Rock North was led by the six-goal effort of Tyler Shablin while Chris Gifford added one goal and four assists. Mike Demsko and Bryan Attanasio each had one goal and one assist. Brian Fitzpatrick and Joe Earley also scored for the Indians. and contributed to this article
