Episcopal Academy senior Taylor Trimble has been named the recipient of the National Lacrosse League Reebok High School Female Player of the Year Award.
Trimble, a midfielder, helped lead EA to a 17-4 record and the team’s sixth straight Inter-Ac League championship. Episcopal Academy finished a perfect 12-0 in league play (first time since 2003) and also won the Pennsylvania State Independent Schools championship.
Serving as team captain, Trimble racked up 96 goals and 53 assists this season while being named as a US All-American for the third straight season.
Trimble also was the recipient of the Bo and Kelly Ryan Scholarship Award as Delaware County’s top female scholar-athlete and was named to the Under Armour All-American Game. She scored two goals in the contest Saturday night at Towson University.
Trimble also is the team captain of the Under-19 US National squad that will compete in Hannover, Germany Aug. 3-14 in the Federation of International Lacrosse World Championships. Trimble will be playing collegiately at Duke University next year.
Trimble, of Rosemont, also was a two-time winner of the Heather Leigh Albert award as the top player at the US Lacrosse Women’s High School Division of the National Tournament. She played club lacrosse for the Phantastix.
The Boys Lacrosse Player of the Year is Wells Stanwick, of The Boys’ Latin School (Md.).
