The Conestoga boys have won the Central League championship while the Garnet Valley girls have punched their ticket as one of four teams to win the Central League crown after games this evening.

Host Conestoga defeated Garnet Valley, 10-6, to win the boys’ crown, finishing a perfect 11-0 campaign. It is expected that the two-time defending District 1 champion Pioneers will be seeded first in this year’s tournament when the seeds are announced this weekend.

Garnet Valley finished second with a 10-1 league mark.

The girls’ race was not so simple. Garnet Valley, by virtue of its 10-9 overtime win over visiting Conestoga tonight, finished in a four-way tie with Radnor, Harriton and Springfield-Delco, all at 9-2. Conestoga has to settle for fifth place at 8-3.

Details on these two key games are coming soon.
