Boys’ lacrosse: Top-ranked Haverford School downs Abington, 16-7, to improve to 5-0

Hup Hupfeldt scored four goals and Carl Walrath added two goals and three assists while Joe McCallion scored twice and won 13 of 15 face-offs to help host Haverford School down Abington, 16-7, today in non-league boys’ lacrosse.

The Fords – ranked No. 1 in the nation in two national polls as well as the in the PA Media Rankings – improved to 5-0. The Ghosts are 0-2.

Brendan McGrath added two goals for the Fords and Zach Rego, Sam Rohr and Matt Walters each had a goal and an assist. Conor Kelly made 10 saves in three periods of work, allowing six goals.

For the Ghosts, Matt Figueroa had three goals and Travis O’Connor was a standout in the cage with 18 saves.
