Boys’ lacrosse: Sankey scores six goals to lead Penn Charter to 19-7 rout of Hun School (N.J.) in Inter-Ac Invitational

Joey Sankey erupted for six goals and three assists and Shane Carr scored three goals and added four assists as Penn Charter coasted past Hun School (N.J.), 19-7, today in the first round of the Inter-Ac Invitational at Episcopal School.

The sixth-seeded Quakers (11-10) advance to play at third-seeded and Inter-Ac rival Germantown Academy on Wednesday in the quarterfinals.

Penn Charter bolted to a 9-1 first-period lead and padded the advantage to 14-3 by halftime.

Ray Vandegrift added two goals and two assists for the Quakers while Tyler Earley had a goal and two assists and Kevin Murphy and Dean Roseman each had a goal and an assist and Jackson Tamasitis had 13 saves.

Will Sweetland led 11th-seeded Hun School (9-8) with four goals while Ian Allexandridias scored twice and Steffen Gratch (Twist Lacrosse Club) had a goal and an assist.
