High Point University has signed 11 recruits to National Letters of Intent, head coach Lyndsey Boswell announced on Monday. The group will join HPU in the fall of 2012 and includes three attackers, seven midfielders and a defender from the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic.

“I’m so excited to bring in another great recruiting class – our depth for this spring is already very good and will get even better when we add these 11 players,” said Boswell. “This group will give us amazing speed and help us play the fast-paced style of lacrosse that we’ve been building a foundation for. Our increased numbers will help us get a lot of players on the field and continue to improve our team’s overall skill level.”

Callaway went to Avon Grove and played club lacrosse for Ultimate. She’s a first-team All-Area selection who had 50 goals and 56 assists as a sophomore and 69 goals and 58 assists as a junior. She is also a second-team All-Ches-Mont League selection and an Academic All-American.

The lone defender High Point brings in is Taryn Schweizer of Newark, Del. Schweizer attends St. Mark’s High School and played club lacrosse for Ultimate. She was a first-team All-Conference an All-State selection, and was an Academic All-American in 2011. She led St. Marks in caused turnovers last season.

The 11 recruits will join a talented High Point University team that graduates just two seniors after this season. The Panthers went 15-4 in their inaugural season in 2011, winning the National Lacrosse Conference title and setting a record for wins by a first-year NCAA Div. I team.
