What an amazing women, an inspiration and great person to work with.I worked with Anne for several years at DuPont childrens hospital in the ER.She had the biggest heart ever. She will be missed deeply by all of us. My sympothy goes out to Chris and Nicolas.

To the Bates family: Just heard about this via Facebook as well. Had homeroom in HS with Ann. LIke Sarah says above I too remember her being brilliant, athletic, positive, and kind. So sorry for your loss. You are in our prayers.

Coach Bates, I attended high school with Ann, and remember she was brilliant, athletic, and very popular. I learned about this on Facebook, where everyone is deeply saddened by the news. Ann was so genuine and kind, and always positive and confident. I am truly sorry for your loss.

So sorry to hear about your loss Coach Bates, I met Ann after a few of our home games and still remember her smiling and congratulating me on a game well played, and if that is all I knew of her it would have been enough. Her smile could fill a room, and I remember it to this day. She fought off cancer for so long, and I wish the world that it would not have happened to anyone let alone someone so extraordinary.
