Kennett senior defenseman/LSM Anthony Torello has made a commitment to play Division III lacrosse at Ursinus College.

Anthony Torello

Anthony Torello log:

High school: Kennett High School

Graduation year:
2012

Position:
Defense/LSM

College choice:
Ursinus College

Club affiliation:
Black Bear Elite

Major lacrosse honors: All Ches-Mont Honorable Mention as a Freshmen. All Ches-Mont 2nd Team as a Sophomore and Junior.

What will you major in/study: Physics

Why did you choose school? “I chose Ursinus for many reasons including the fact that it is close to home and the academics are great. Also, Coach (Jamie) Steele and his staff were great throughout the whole recruiting process and when I went for my overnight all of the guys I met were great. After the overnight I knew I would fit in great with all of those guys and knew that it was the place for me.”

Outlook for your high school team: “Last year we had a large group of seniors and we were able to make it to the first round of the playoffs for the first time in a few years. Although we lost all of those seniors, we have a great group of young guys that stepped up late in the season last year to step into the spots left by the seniors. With our core group of new seniors and the support of all our young guys I think we can have another successful season and make it back to the playoffs for a second straight year.”

Additional comments: “I would like to thank my High School coaches, Bob Allvord and Glen Tinkoff, who have been my coaches since I first began playing lacrosse as a kid. They have both helped me so much all throughout my lacrosse career.”
