North Hunterdon (N.J.) senior defenseman Cameron Riley has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at St. Joseph’s University.

Cameron Riley log:

Cameron Riley clears

High School: North Hunterdon, NJ

Graduation Year: 2012

Position: Defenseman

College Choice: St. Joseph’s

Club Affiliation: Team Turnpike

Major lacrosse honors:

What will you major in/study? Business

Why did you choose school? “I really liked the campus and I like the city of Philadelphia. I like (first-year) coach (Taylor) Wray and think he’ll do a great job with the program. Talking to some of the guys on the team, they were saying how hard he makes them practice and I think that’s going to help. Plus, it has a good business school.”

What is your HS team’s outlook for next year?
“We started slowly last year, but made it to the playoffs (winning five of their last seven games). I think we should be better than last year. This could be a very good year.”

Additional comments: “I would like to thank my Dad and my Mom and (North Hunterdon) coach Rory McPeek, and former coach Rob Donnelly.”
